This group of plants is developed free-floating in water without root. They are excellent to combat algae, along with the water lilies as they compete effectively for all the resources necessary for growth and blocks much of the sun's rays.
Absorbs large amounts of dissolved nutrients in the water (some of them toxic if accumulated) at high speed and decreasing the temperature to shadow and light levels of the water. Leaves and roots have to provide shelter and spawning grounds for fish and amphibians.
