From September 2011 start courses Introduction to the Aquatic Gardens. Were issued in the Nursery, every Wednesday or Sundays. Consist of a lecture - practices that take all day (9:30 to 17:30)

The program covers the following topics:

 

1) Planning and Design, Pond

- Types of ponds

- Sizes

- Technical rules

- Biological Rules

 

2) Pond Maintenance

- Care according to the time

- Algae Control - Types of algae

- Control of mosquito larvae - Dengue

- Cleaning the pool

- Contributions - Water Changes

 

3) Building a Pond

- Most common materials

- Example: stepper Building a pond typical PVC or polyethylene.

- Equipment: Filters, pumps, fountains, decorative items

 

4) The Aquatic Ecosystem

- Plants: Types and functions of aquatic plants within the ecosystem.

Interactions Location within the pond depths.

- Animals:- Fish: Description of most common species for ponds.

Tents - Kites - Ecology-Food-Play - Care according to the season.

- Amphibians and other residents. Pests.

 

5) Floating plants: Overview of Most common species - care according to the season - Control

 

6) Sumerged Plantas: Overview of most common species - according to time Care - Control

 

7) Marginal Plants: Species most common description for the group - depending on the time care

- Planted - Fertilization.

 

8) Rooted

- Hardies WaterLillies: Features - Planted - Substrate-Fertilization - Care under time. - more common varieties.

- Tropical Waterlilies: Features - Planted - Substrate-Fertilization - according Care time. - most common varieties.

- Lotus: Features - Planted - Substrate - Fertilization - Care according to the time-Variety most common

- Other Rooted: Features - Planted - Fertilization - Care according to the season - Most common varieties - Diseases and pests most common.

 

Practices

- Division Repotting Water Lilies Fertilisation and different types of rhizomes.

- Division of Lotos Repotting and Fertilization

- Division, Repotting and fertilization of marginal Plants.

9:00 to 9:30 pm: Welcome - Registration - Payment. Delivery of teaching materials. Café

9:30 to 11:00 am: Course - Theoretical Part I: Ponds - Ecology - Fish

11:00 to 11:30 am: Coffee Break

11:30 to 13:00 am: Course - Theoretical Part II: Floating - Oxygen - swamp

13:00 to 14:00 pm: Lunch (not included in the tariff)

14:00 to 16:00 am: Course - Theoretical Part III: Rooted: Water Lilies - Lotos

16:00 to 16:30 am: Coffee Break

16:30 to 17:30 am: Course - Part Practice: Water Lilies - Lotus - Marginal Plants
